Description
Summary:The literature has showed that libraries in developed countries are fast growing early adopters of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology. The adoption of RFID in supply chain has reported superior growth. Abundant test have been e xecuted in a variety supply chain environment to determine performance requirement, physical characteristic and limitations to achieve a near I 00% read rate. However, the literature is sparse on reports of performance testing in a library setting, and results from supply chain testing should be reluctantly applied to other environment. Yet, the study proceed based on the literature examines the benefits of implementation the RFID Self-Check machine in library. The library automated checkout system, also known as the self-checkout system, is a tool that can be used by library patrons to check out materials independently. The study was conducted in academic library at TAT/UC Library with the distribution of 150 sample questionnaire to the student in three main faculties. The distribution of survey questionnaire is to check the relevancy of the installation the Self-Check in TAT/UC library in students' viewpoint. The study's purpose was to determine the attitudes of library patrons toward this technological tool. It revealed that there is a positive relationship between the ease of using the self checkout machine and patrons' satisfaction levels.
