Description
Summary:UiTM Shah Alam This study describes the perception and attitude of road users during traffic delay due to accident occurrence at opposite direction. Normally the occurrence of accidents is the major contribution to traffic delay. To identify the effect of accident to traffic flow at opposite direction and to identify road user perception and attitude that contribute to delay. Travel time and delay study was conducted and a set of questionnaire related to traffic delay was distributed to road user using Federal Highway. The full scale study was conducted to obtain preliminary information regarding this delay. The analysis shows that there area many reasons contributed to the delay at study area and it is possible to conclude that the traffic will delay when an accident occur at opposite direction. It is due to many reasons. One of them is road user's move very slow due to accident at opposing lane and tries to observe the accident. It makes the traffic move slowly and delays. This research requires analysis of road user's perception and attitude in a way that results in suggestion for improvement the road user's perception and attitude.
