| Summary: | Interior design is a multifaceted profession where creative and technical solutions are applied within the model of the structure to obtain a designed interior environment. Interior design is an art of designing. Interior design applications are beneficial for users because it helps in saving time, saving cost, can access the application easily and apply the applications everywhere and anytime. A personality test might help streamline the process of designing the house. However, the interior design in Malaysia requires professional designers that surely need a lot of cost to pay the designer in order to get the best design that suited user preferences. Besides, based on the survey stated in preliminary investigation, the user found it is difficult to make a decision to choose their own preferred design layout. The homeowner also does not acknowledge their own styles and personality in order to design their house personally. The purpose of this research is to design a mobile application that has the ability to help the user to design their house based on their personality and to develop the mobile application of interior design based on the user's personality (LA CASA). This research involves heuristic evaluation by the experts and User Experience Test (UX Test) with a group of community. Design Science Research was utilized as the methodology in the study to achieve all of the objectives. The phases involved in this research are aware of problems followed by suggestion, development, evaluation and conclusion. From conducted testing, the experts reviewed the application and added comments and suggestions to improve the application and the researcher has done the refinement. The UX Test results show that LA CASA is well accepted by the user and meets the user's expectations to help them in designing their house based on their own personality and preference. |
