Summary:The urbanization is rapidly occurred in Malaysia especially in year 1970. The urbanization is not just involving community growth but any social changes among communities in the city. A city can play an important role in the development of country. In order to pay this role, the city should be able to provide job opportunities, sufficient public facilities and better residential area. In Malaysia nowadays, city planning is actively in progress. It involves the combination of old town and new town planning. This progress is not only increasing the comfortable life but it is also balance out the development of the country. In addition, the existence of urban development can increase the investment in property sector. Because of this importance of urbanization in Malaysia, the writer interested to do further research about the development of town. There are several aspects to be investigated such as the community, residential area and so on. The main aim of this project is to study factors that affecting the development and the criteria or characteristics in Bandar Tasik Selatan. The other aim is to study the effects of development in Bandar Tasik Sefatan. The sources of data and information are gathered by the author from literature review of previous researches, academic writing, published articles, and supported by the opinions of certain parties through formal interviews and questionnaires. This study is involved Bandar Tasik Selatan as a research area which is a suburban of Kuala Lumpur metropolitan.
