Summary:Industrial Training module (ECM 376) is a main component in the learning academic for Universiti Teknologi Mara (UITM) Campus Pasir Gudang. Industrial training was first introduced to students is in year of 2014. Industrial training is one of the compulsory courses that needed to be carried out by students (semester 4 and above) in Diploma in Civil Engineering. Every student bounds to be involved in industrial training for 8 weeks (18" of April 2016 to 11" of June 2016) during the semester break in order for him or her to get his or her diploma certificate. Other than that, Industrial Training was to increase the level of graduates which is able to work, industrial training program was introduced to strengthen the competencies required. Industrial Training courses give students learning opportunities in the world of work to receive practical experience in order to improve the reliability of the market. lt is also a program for student to learn, gain knowledge and understand about engineering problem in the real situation instead of learning in the classroom. Industrial training consists of an exchange of services for experience between the student and organization in a short term. Tendency for engineer to share their knowledge is higher due to produce a potential new engineer. Generally, an interns have a supervisor who assigns specific tasks and evaluates overall intern works. A supervisor will be responsible to teach and guide an intern. The trainee also must follow all the rules and regulations of the organization as they have been accepted in their company.
