Summary:A systematic management of information in an organization is known to be the key to achieve high quality of work performance and productivity. Efficient of work can be tremendously increase with the use of information technology such as the GIS, which is believed could provide such facility. In fact other than being a tool for information management and planning it is now also tool of technology and engineering work. This work discuss about the study that had been done on GIS studying what it really is and its performance in building control and planning which is executed at Perbadanan Putrajaya. By indulging more in the study the basic concept of GIS would be revealed and important terms such as Desktop Mapping and Integrated Mapping would be defined. In completing my dissertation, several local authorities were selected to be respondent and case study. The performance of the selected local authorities in the approval process and data storage for building control and planning will be analyzed the information which can be used to make comparison or other related purpose in this dissertation. The local authorities’ names can be read in this report.
