Summary:The purpose of this research is to evaluate the effectiveness of EDI system in the process of import and export since it was implemented at Port Klang. The research will analyze the way on how EDI system can be implemented at other ports in Malaysia. Import and export trade has been in existence for many centuries. In fact, in the eighteen century, the United Kingdom has been actively involved in the import and export trade with the United States of America. 1 In the Far East, import and export trade has also been practice for a long time. Indeed, the early years of Singapore's prosperity was mainly derived from the import and export trade. Even in Malaysia, Malacca used to be an active import and export center in the older days2. Hence, it can be seen that Import/Export Trade has a long history, and it has contributed greatly to the development of International Trade. Together with this, it has presented vast business opportunities and lnany businessmen have made.
