Summary:In Malaysia today, there is a greater opportunity for student to attend college and universities. They had a choice whether to further their studies in Malaysia or across the border. Other than that, private colleges also giving opportunity to foreign student to further their studies in Malaysia.The competition between higher education institution to recruit more students and retain them, has become fiercer than ever before (Sohail et al., 2003). Higher education’s Institution need to recruit more students to assure that they can compete in this turbulent market by providing a high quality service to them. Thus it is important to the marketers and to the institution itself to know the factors that influence the student intention and to understand the nature of the relationship among them. These factors are significant from the perspective of the higher education institution marketing strategy planning for student recruitment. As a result, a further investigation of the factors that influence international students’ intention to study in Malaysia is proposed in this study. Higher education must increase the national and international recognition of its institution through research and creative achievement. They would find the dominants factor that influencing the student intentions to further the studies in their institution. Similarly, higher education institution need to improve their retention and graduation rates by recruit more students to their institution. To maintain their image and improve their ranking, higher education institution must improve in these areas. Although previous researcher identified many attributes that influenced students’ choice of institution, the attributes does not been clearly describes. Before there is a research towards the factors influencing the decision of student to study at Universiti Sains Malaysia. There is no specific research that has been done targeting to international student in MSU, Shah Alam.
