The proposal of a new design scheme for the Tube Guesthouse in Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur which is a capsule hotel brings together the aim to come out with a more systematic and functional planning for each area with out abandon all the guest’s necessities and services. At the same time, Tube Guesthouse also brings along with it the objective to create a new attraction and profitable hospitality facility to the nation especially on the coming Visit Malaysia 2007 Programme since the Tube Guesthouse will be the first of its kind here in Malaysia. Another objective for this proposal is to transform an abandon show unit to a new chic and fresh look guesthouse especially to those who entered KL Sentral business zone. Research had been carried out by asking the foreigners, local citizens as well as the owner of a few budget hotels in Kuala Lumpur about this new type of hotel in Malaysia. Questionnaires was given to make the research runs smoothly and easier to understand by the public. Trip to the site to look at the condition of the existing building had also been carried out. At the same time, photos of the building and its surrounding had been captured as well as site measurement of the building had been done. The existing building which is a frame structure building is still in good condition although had been abandon for more then two years. This double storey show unit consists of seven rooms, six bathrooms and two living rooms. The combination of the proposed style and concept which area modem-retro and cube control were hoped to create the right and suitable outcome for this capsule hotel. As a conclusion for the whole research which had been carried out from the beginning, is that the design for the Tube Guesthouse will not only provide a great atmosphere for the hotel, but also able to function for its guest in term of design as well as services.
