Technical report: calculating the predictive population growth of Oreochromis Niloticus using Logistic Growth Model and Ricker's Model / Nurul Aliya Mohd Najib, Nur Humaira Musa and Azian Shahira Mohd Salim
Red Tilapia or its scientific name is Oreochromis Niloticus. Oreochromis Niloticus occurs at a temperature range of 8 °C to 42 °C, in a wide variety of freshwater habitats. Their eggs and larvae nursed in mouth of female and feeds mainly on phytoplankton or benthic algae. Oreochromis Niloticus are...

Over years, demand of Tilapia population increases that leads to the introduction of commercial culture. The challenge for Fisheries Department is to maintain the demand of Tilapia that may exceed supply in some situation. The purpose of this project is to study the effects of population of Oreochromis Niloticus by using Logistic Model and Ricker's Model . The idea is to propose the best parameter in harvesting strategy to assist Fisheries Department to meet the urge of Tilapia demand . Based on the result obtained, the growth rate , r for Ricker's Model is 0.5088 has only a small percentage of absolute error compared to the original data which is 19.33 percent. 2016 Student Project NonPeerReviewed text en https://ir.uitm.edu.my/id/eprint/109146/1/109146.pdf Technical report: calculating the predictive population growth of Oreochromis Niloticus using Logistic Growth Model and Ricker's Model / Nurul Aliya Mohd Najib, Nur Humaira Musa and Azian Shahira Mohd Salim.
