Summary: | The research was done to study the distribution of Mahang gajah (Macaranga gigantea) which have diameter breast height (dbh) more than 5 cm in UiTM Jengka Forest Reserve. The study plot is about 500 m x 10 m in Base Line 1: Line 1- Line 5 (0.5 hectare with the percentage 0.46 % to the whole areas of UiTM Jengka Forest Reserve) and also logging road. In this study, the distribution of Mahang gajah (Macaranga gigantea) in UiTM Jengka Forest Reserve was distribute randomly in study area mainly at logging road. From this study too, it was found that individuals which having diameter breast height (dbh) between 5 cm- 14 cm is the dominant category with 31 individuals in Lines and 80 individuals in logging road. In the study plot, the dominant category of diameter breast height (dbh) that found is small pole category which has a girth more than 5 cm and less than 14 cm. In logging road, 80 individuals from small pole category recorded and only 31 individuals in Lines and the total is 111 individuals (69.8% of the whole individuals), followed by big pole category which have a girth more than 15 cm but less than 30 cm with a total 44 individuals (10 individuals in Lines and 34 individuals in logging road) or 27.7% of the whole individuals. The smallest number of individuals is from pre-mature category which has a girth between 30 cm to 45 cm with total number 4 individuals in logging road (2.5%). |
