يُعد التقويم من المجالات التربوية سريعة التغير؛ حيث حدثت تطورات جوهرية في فلسفاته، ومناهجه، وإجراءاته، وأساليبه، وأدواته في الوقت الحاضر، ويشهد العالم ظهور التقويم البديل للتغلب على القصور المتواجد في أساليب التقويم التقليدية التي تركز على قياس مفاهيم المستويات الدنيا، وتهمل المستويات العليا ولا تساعد الطلبة على التفكير والابتكار؛ ما يتطلب تحسين عملية التقويم التربوي لمواكبة التطور في النظام التعليمي. ونتيجة للانتقادات التي وجهت إلى التقويم التقليدي، دعت التوجهات الحديثة إلى التقويم البديل أو ما يسمى التقويم الأصيل، يهدف البحث إلى بيان نظريات وأساسيات التقويم، وشرح أساسيات التقويم البديل. واتبع البحث المنهج الوصفي التحليأتي: لبيان عناصر التقويم البديل وأهميته في العملية التعليمية. توصلت الدراسة إلى ما يأتي: إن التقويم البديل يساعد المعلم في قياس مستوى الطلبة من خلال أداء المهام، وأن وهناك عناصر عدة التي يميزه من التقويم التقليدي من حيث شكل الاختبارات، والمدة المستغرقة، وعنصر التعاون، وغيرها، ويتميز التقويم البديل بأنه استمراري، وشمولي، وتعاوني، واقتصادي، وعلمي، وتوجد استراتيجيات تعين المعلم في تطبيق التقويم البديل أثناء الفصل باستخدام أدوات التقويم البديل الملائمة بالنظر إلى أهداف الدرس، والمواد التعليمية، ومستوى الطلبة، وغيرها. Abstract: Evaluation is a rapidly changing educational field. Where there have been fundamental developments in its philosophies, curricula, procedures, methods, and tools at the present time, and the world is witnessing the emergence of alternative assessment to overcome the shortcomings found in traditional assessment methods that focus on measuring the concepts of lower levels, neglecting higher levels and not helping students to think and innovate; What requires improving the educational evaluation process to keep pace with the development in the educational system. As a result of the criticism directed at the traditional evaluation, recent trends have called for an alternative evaluation or the so-called authentic evaluation. The research aims to explain the theories and basics of evaluation and explain the basics of alternative evaluation. The research followed the descriptive-analytical approach: to show the elements of alternative assessment and its importance in the educational process. The study found the following: The alternative assessment helps the teacher to measure the level of students through the performance of tasks, and that there are several elements that distinguish it from the traditional assessment in terms of the form of tests, the duration, the element of cooperation, and others. The alternative assessment is characterized by being continuity and comprehensive, Collaborative, economic, and scientific, and there are strategies that help the teacher in applying alternative assessment during the classroom using appropriate alternative assessment tools in view of lesson objectives, educational materials, students' level, and others.
