Summary:The textbook has been of great importance in the teaching and learning process - whatever the subject may be – for a long time, and it remains so, because it is considered as the pier which the student depends on to achieve highly in the required syllabus/subjects. Arabic language text books for non-native Arabic speakers, although it is new in comparison to the textbooks for native speakers, has received great attention around the world, either in systematic format or nonsystematic, printed on paper or in electronic format, whatever format it is, it’s still considered as a mean source to the students to learn Arabic. In this humble article, the researcher aims to investigate the textbooks of teaching Arabic, which are currently used in various levels of education, to analyse the content in terms of designing, formatting, language, culture and environment. How it will be developed in the future, with the use of digital devices? Will it still be printed on paper, or will it be digitized as an e-book? The methods used in this paper are inductive, descriptive and deductive methodology, by reviewing related literature and researches that have been done in this area, and what are the outcomes, results, recommendations and expectations, especially with regard to educational technology. In addition, the books of teaching the Arabic language, in the region, will be reviewed in term of its language, cultural and technical content, to come up with a vision for the future textbooks in light of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4th IR).
