Summary:Aquatic life support course manual (First edition) is the course manual created to provide aquatic rescue skills and knowledge for the medical personnel. The learning materials regarding aquatic rescue skills and the management of water related incidents were taken from various sources. It also gathers input from various agencies in Malaysia that involved in water safety and rescue. From all the information gathered a syllabus that suits the settings for Malaysian waters is created. The main objective of the AqLS course is to expose and introduce aquatic rescue and care for aquatic emergency condition to health care providers in Malaysia. Through the course and the manual, the participants will acquire knowledge on water safety and drowning prevention, as well as the skills on water survival and basic aquatic rescue. With the necessary skills and knowledge, the health care providers will be able to serve during unfortunate aquatic event or disaster if happened while ensuring personal safety carrying out duty in the water or around aquatic environment.
