The Internet has revolutionized the world of computers and communications like nothing before. The invention of various forms of communications has paved the way for this unprecedented integration of capabilities. Today, the Internet is also recognized as a pervasive information infrastructure which influences not only the technical fields but across society as a whole. At the end of the 20th century, the Internet emerged as the world’s newest and most unique communication medium which captured interest worldwide. Beyond its societal impacts, the Internet also has the potential to shape our future with unprecedented power. Abundance of communications and sharing platforms have been developed through the Net, with approximately over 100 million registered users globally. Nowadays, millions of people around the globe find it indispensable to describe their lives and fulfill their function without the Internet, as it has become one of the most influential things for humankind. The Internet has now become the gateway to accessing libraries, encyclopedias, art galleries, news archives, and other information sources from around the world. The web is a formidable resource for enhancing the process of building knowledge. Additionally, from the Islamic perspective, social media offers numerous advantages, assuming that it can serve as a platform for da’wah, a straightforward way to refer to the current fatwas, and a medium that facilitates communication among Muslims around the world. Connectivity and intelligence are now harnessed to bring people together. With an Islamic view of this modern technology, it has become the responsibility of every Muslim to ensure the correctness and genuineness of the messages being delivered for a call towards Allah across all digital sources, especially considering the widespread access to smart devices, like smartphones and smart homes.
