The monograph demonstrates the success of the phenomenological theory of the nucleus in describing the structure of deformed nuclei in the region 156<A<172. Another advantage of the monograph is that it predicts the properties of excited states of even-even deformed nuclei, which can serve as a starting point for further experimental studies. The monograph is intended for researchers involved in nuclear physics, as well as for graduate students and senior students of universities.
