During a 3-year period from 2003 until 2005, 11952 new cases of breast cancer were reported to the National Cancer Registry. Mammography plays an important role in the diagnostic assessment and screening of breast cancer. RESULTS We retrospectively reviewed the mammograms of patients with biopsy-proven breast cancer from 2008 until 2010 in IIUM Breast Centre. A total of 43 cases were included. The main mammographic finding was documented. Majority of patients had mass lesion (46.5%) on the mammogram. The other findings were asymmetrical density (16.2%), suspicious microcalcification (14.0%) and architectural distortion (14.0%). Normal mammogram was seen in 9.3% of cases. CONCLUSION Mammography is still the gold standard imaging in patients with breast cancer. The mammograhic features in these patients are variable. Supplementary imaging should be considered in certain cases due to high percentage of false negative mammogram. 2011 Conference or Workshop Item REM application/pdf en http://irep.iium.edu.my/11452/1/2011_IHC_BREAST_final_.pdf Hassan, Radhiana and Che Mohamed, Siti Kamariah and Abdul Rashid, Mohd Amran and Yahaya, Azura Sharena and Muhammed Nordin, Ellyda and Zaini, Izwan Zanni (2011) Mammographic findings of Breast Cancer: review of 43 cases in IIUM Breast Centre (2008-2010).
