This study explored the roles played by teachers as leaders inside the classroom, factors encouraging teacher leadership, challenges and teachers’ recommendations to improve leadership component in school setting. Qualitative method and Case study approach was used for data collection. Semi structured interviews with the principal, academic coordinator senior and junior teachers were conducted in school. The findings indicated that teacher leaders performed multiple roles, teachers, facilitators, mentors, learners and relationship builders. Supportive senior management, leadership development programmes and creation of a culture of respect were the main factors for teacher leadership improvement. Teacher leaders confronted challenges and stress both inside and outside the classroom. They were over worked and less paid yet most of them were satisfied with their jobs. The recommendations such as technology in class, leadership trainings and time allocation for extra-curricular activities were given by teacher leaders.
