Sustainable education The Prophet Mohamed’s (SAW) life is the authentic application of the Quranic teachings; therefore, it could be considered as knowledge and divine guidance applied onto daily life. Hence, the twenty-three-year period of his prophetic life is the real manifestation of the message of Islam. Islam comes to demonstrate, in a practical manner, the transformation of individuals, families, societies, and mankind in general on the bases of its commandments. The prophet is the leading example for Muslims who internalized the Islamic teachings and conducted their lives accordingly. As a result, the Muslim society showed Islam in action and led Muslims to be successful in this life and the Hereafter. Thus, Quran and Sunnah are inseparable for conducting our lives in the light of Islam. This article attempts to examine only one specific incident that occurred during the life of the prophet to understand the context and how the prophet succeeded effectively to manage a crisis that he countered through executing effective crisis and team management, which reflect his effective leadership personality and qualities. As we know, the prophet lived 13 years in Makkah after the first revelation to introduce and convey Islam to the people of Makkah who went astray; however, only a small number of people accepted Islam. Muslims, then as a minority, were subjected to the oppression and aggression from, then, disbeliever Makkan people. Due to the continuous oppression, the prophet recommended his companions to migrate to Abyssinia twice as a temporary refuge. For many reasons, the number of the Muslims who moved to Abyssinia were small while the majority, including the prophet himself, stayed in Makkah. Later, the prophet urged the companions to migrate to Madinah after he had made the proper arrangement with some of the Madinah’s leaders based on a covenant. After that, the Prophet migrated himself with the rest of his companions to Madinah after he negotiated his migration with the newly converted Muslims from the Madinah community. The Prophet Mohamed’s (SAW) life is the authentic application of
the Quranic teachings; therefore, it could be considered as knowledge and divine guidance applied onto daily life. Hence, the
twenty-three-year period of his prophetic life is the real manifestation of the message of Islam.
This article attempts to examine only one specific incident that
occurred during the life of the prophet to understand the context
and how the prophet succeeded effectively to manage a crisis that he countered through executing effective crisis and team management, which reflect his effective leadership personality and qualities.
As we know, the prophet lived 13 years in Makkah after the first revelation to introduce and convey Islam to the people of
Makkah who went astray; however, only a small number of people
accepted Islam. Muslims, then as a minority, were subjected to the
oppression and aggression from, then, disbeliever Makkan people. Due to the continuous oppression, the prophet recommended his
companions to migrate to Abyssinia twice as a temporary refuge. |
