Description
Summary:Nowadays, renewable energy sources are becoming important in contributing to the electricity generation to reduce dependency on fossil fuels that are predicted to deplete soon. Besides, the world’s energy demand is growing rapidly from year to year. Implementation of renewable energy system could solve this problem. In addition, a lot of benefits can be obtained by the country especially in the effort to reduce carbon dioxide emission from non-renewable energy resources such as coal and fossil fuels. Malaysia is one of the potential countries that can make use of renewable energy sources for electricity generation. This is because this country receives abundance of renewable energy such as solar, wind, water and others. This project intends to look into the possibility of implementation of renewable energy based electricity generating system in Malaysia and also the implementation strategies. This paper highlights the analysis of resource data, electricity production, techno-economic, land area and software development. Three types of system were compared in this study which is hybrid solar-wind with generator system, solar with generator system, and hybrid solar-wind system. Eventually, the project was successfully done.
