Description
Summary:The objective of this project is to determine the potential of C02 adsorption on pentace triptera leaves and a suitable model to describe its adsorption equilibrium relationship and to fit the adsorption data of CO2 on molecular sieve 5A and on activated carbon using Langmuir and Sips model. Leaves were collected and cleaned. CHONS analysis was performed on the leaves. Data for adsorption of CO2 on molecular sieve 5A and on activated carbon; AC1 was obtained from literature. Microsoft Excel and Polymath 5.1 software were used for data correlation. The potential of CO2 adsorption on pentace triptera leaves could not be determined due to equipment failure and therefore a model to describe its adsorption equilibrium relationship could not be deduced. Sips model showed a better fit for adsorption of CO2 on both molecular sieve 5A and activated carbon at all temperatures studied.
