Description
Summary:This study is about a wax deposition simulation model is used to represent the behavior of the wax deposition phenomena in the subsea pipelines. As the fluid flow across the subsea pipelines, a cooling process occurs as heat is loss to the surrounding of the seawater. When the bulb temperature   b T drops below the Wax Appearance Temperature WAT , formation of wax deposition onto the pipeline wall occurs. To prevent wax deposition from reducing the flow area, changing the flow and even blockage of the pipelines, pigging operation must be carried out to remove the wax on the pipeline. The aim of this study is to investigate another tool that can be used to estimate pigging operation frequency to remove wax from the pipeline wall and to validate the wax simulation predicted by model with the Mother Paper. In order to achieve the objective, some job will be done by developing suitable model equation to be used as representation for wax deposition thickness, temperature and pressure, performing simulation on wax deposition using real field data to determine the thickness of wax deposition (x) along the pipeline, analyze the temperature (T) and pressure (P) profiles along the pipeline and lastly, comparing wax deposition predicted by a simulation model with Mother Paper.
