Description
Summary:This report focuses on the dynamical behavior of offshore wind turbine and analysis of a foundation, the wind turbine support system using multibody approaches as the method. A multibody system in the offshore wind turbine is consist of three main parts namely the base which acts as a support system, the tower, and the blade. The connection of these parts will results in the dynamical motion of the offshore wind turbine as the load from the blade is applied to the blade and the load from the regular wave on the substructure. The aims of this project are to simulate the dynamical deformation of the offshore wind turbine as well as the effect on the foundation model. In this project, MATLAB and Simulink are used to model and simulate the effect of the foundation by applying the dynamic force on the blade after it was divided into few elements using Blade Element Momentum (BEM) Theory.
