Description
Summary:Mesoporous silica materials are extremely important as the backbone of current largescale applications in key fields of the chemical industry. Although there are different synthesis method to produce different mesoporous silica materials, but there is still research efforts needed to seek for the alternative for the production of mesoporous silica materials. In current project, conventional hydrothermal synthesis and reflux synthesis method were studied for the synthesis of MCM-48 samples. The samples were synthesised in both methods by changing the synthesis temperature (60 – 100 oC) and synthesis time (1 – 2 days). The synthesized samples were characterised for its property using different analytical techniques including particle size analyser (PSA), scanning electron microscope (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), x-ray powder diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared microscope (FTIR), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET).
