Description
Summary:Free surface breakwaters are frequently used for protecting small harbors and recreational marinas with limited applications for the protection of temporal offshore activities. Different types of free surface breakwater designs have been introduced by various researchers, having their unique hydrodynamic performances. However, in most of the existing free surface breakwaters, high reflectivity of the structures has resulted in higher level of risk to the nearby floating vessels. The free surface H-type breakwater (FSHB) has been designed to attenuate the incident waves mainly by energy dissipation having a relatively small amount of wave reflection.
