Description
Summary:This study focuses on evaluating the effectiveness of smart aquaponics system as monitoring and controlling mechanism for agriculture and fishery activities among the indigenous community. An investigation is conducted towards ten indigenous people at RPS Pos Legap, Sungai Siput, Perak in using the aquaponics system. This study utilised several types of sensor to read values of real-time conditions in the aquaponics tank connected to NodeMCU ESP32 as the microcontroller that will send the data to the server. A mobile application is developed to receive the data from the server in real-time and display it to the indigenous farmer. The results revealed that smart aquaponics system had ease the activities among indigenous people in controlling and monitoring the farm. In addition, the observations highlighted that indigenous people are more interested, focus and accepted in using smart aquaponics system as assistive tools in their agriculture and fishery activities.
