Living in Industrial 4.0 Era has benefits us in the used of automation, data exchange and computers that brings effectiveness in our daily life. According to Christoph Jan Bartodziej the concepts of Industry 4.0 involve Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence, Cyber-Physical System (CPS) and also Cloud Computing. This revolution allows machines to run without full supervision from humans. We call this system as smart factory. People nowadays are reluctant to automate everything in life. Therefore, it is not weird when industry invest millions to increase their knowledge and collaborative working in Industry 4.0 and at the same time increase their revenue. PETRONAS oil and gas also try not to miss the advance and benefits of Industrial 4.0 apart. They have been planned to unlock the value with technology focus area. Towards the plan, PETRONAS had adopted some approaches to make sure their exploration successful, will integrate value chain and can sustain their production. Example of their approaches is Geo-Imaging Technology which help in improve drilling process and minimize the risk of prospects as well as cost. PETRONAS also applied Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) Technology that assist in release massive number of hydrocarbons from its own oil fields economically. By developing automatic camera to measure the height of submerged pipe, I am supporting PETRONAS to achieve their goals in improving productivity, cost and make efficiency in their performance. Even though maintaining the system required cost but it also helps the team to focus on others important things. This system also can increase team productivity by saving their time and energy rather than doing things manually. This approach also supports PETRONAS to deploy technology in terms of automation, data analytics, digital and robotic solution. Successful of this system will automatically help PETRONAS growing their business.
