Description
Summary:A detailed sequential stratigraphic model is very important for further understanding on the controlling factors such as climate and sea level that affecting the sedimentation process. This information will contribute to coastal management strategies dealing with future coastal hazards and their impact on the natural and built environment in coastal zones in which it is predicted to be exacerbated in the coming decades as a result of climate change. In this paper, regional model of stratigraphic sequence ranging from shallow marine to onshore of western Peninsular of Malaysia is proposed based on various data such as seismic lines and borehole data. Integration of both data on GIS basemap are done using multiple softwares such as ArcGis and QGis. Seismic lines are interpreted by defining the properties, configuration and termination of reflectors according to the conventional rules of seismic stratigraphy.
