Shamsul, Muhammad Hasif Syazwan G Geography (General) Bukit Bunuh is believed to be a site of a complex impact crater which occurred during the Quaternary age. This site was therefore declared to be heritage by UNESCO in 2012 due to its rich geological and archeological history. The presence of an impact crater is proven by diagnostic shock metamorphism features both on macroscopic and microscopic level such as shatter cones and planar deformation. Although various studies have been done in regards to the fractures caused by the impact surrounding the central uplift, none have managed to combine both a geological and geophysical approach to the matter. The main objective of this study is to study the fracture patterns surrounding the granitic bedrock of the central uplift (Bukit Bunuh) through both a geological assessment and a geophysical Transient Electromagnetic Method (TEM) which is capable to detect the difference in geological conductivity of the impacted and non-impacted structures and also to delineate subsurface structures. Combining the two assessments would provide a cross reference between each other and also provide a comprehensive insight on the fracture system concerning the impact crater of Bukit Bunuh. A fieldwork was carried out for the geological assessment and a total of 150 strike and dip readings were obtained while for the geophysical method, a total of 6 survey lines of length 1 to 2 kilometers was conducted. From the 2 assessments, a rose diagram and conductivity map was produced respectively to be correlated and accurately deduce the stress and strain force regime. The results dictate the low conductivity in a NE-SW direction is caused by the central uplift from compressional forces, Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS 2015-01 Final Year Project NonPeerReviewed application/pdf en http://utpedia.utp.edu.my/18141/1/Dissertation%20Hasif%20Syazwan%2014912.pdf B.
