In optical communication system, data rates are higher compare to other communication systems hence it needs slightly different line coding schemes compared to other systems. There are a number of coding schemes being used in the optical communication system such as 2B3B (2 input bit to 3 output bit), 4B5B and 5B6B. These line coding schemes can be implemented by using software (MATLAB).
