Summary: | The aim of this article is to study the effect of cavitation on diesel spray behavior and make few modifications to find a better atomization of the spray. Many factors can contribute to the atomization characteristics, such as the pressure at the exit, the flow rates and momentum flux. With that in mind, this research is to identify the characteristic and to come up with a method to observe the atomization and to find a way to ensure good atomization. In this paper, simulations were first validated using experimental results from past papers and then further modified to match the objective of this research. Key parameters observed are pressure, velocity and cavitation behavior of the fuel flow inside the nozzle before exiting.
The findings for the validation section is in agreement with the selected paper that runs the experimental setting of the simulation. However, the new design suggested is not following the expected result. |
