Description
Summary:Internet is a very powerful technology and provides many benefits to its users. However, more and more people are becoming addicted/preoccupied with the internet which can give negative impact to the quality of life of its users. This work studied the impact of internet or social media to its user using Functional Near Infrared(FNIR) based on the criteria used to diagnose other addictions. Using FNIR, we investigated the effect of social media addiction to working memory and decision making based on brain activation during working memory and decision making tasks.
