There are nitrification process in both reactors, and due to the experiments, anaerobic digester produce more nitrification than in aerobic digester. The retention time for both reactors is 362 hours. The characteristic of the sludge given from the refinery are as follows: nitrate = 1.5 mg/L of NH3-N.
