Description
Summary:Development of automotive industry grows drastically beyond the boundary. Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) becomes more popular nowadays with user friendly and low fuel consumption compared to conventional vehicle. Many manufacturing company perform a research to convert conventional existing vehicle into hybrid vehicle where electric motor was add as an additional power source. Another issue raise is how to control the HEV so that the driver feel more comfortable driving the car. During accelerating it doesn’t give much problem in distributing the torque to the wheel. On the other hand, most crucial part is to control the vehicle during cornering because it related with the vehicle stability. The vehicle requires some input from the driver before it can distribute difference torque into the wheel so that the vehicle will remain at the path. In this project, minor fabrication for adapter is needed in order to install In-Wheel Motor (IWM) at rear wheel of the vehicle. Design of the adapter was analyze to ensure it may withstand the force and torque effect during difference driving condition. Vehicle model also was design in Matlab Simulink to execute the performance simulation and to control the vehicle at various driving event. In addition, co-simulation in Adams/Car also will be used to simulate the performance of the vehicle. Once both of the model was done, simulation between them was done to generate the result which to compare model from existing real vehicle and the model that has been modified.
