This study was conducted among 272 academic staffs from five public research universities in Malaysia, namely Universiti Malaya (UM), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Universiti Putra Malaysia, (UPM), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). Statistical Package for the Social Sciences tool was used, and several statistical methods were involved in the data and statistical analysis including the maximum likelihood estimate. Rogers’ Innovation Diffusion Theory was used in our research. In this study, 272 copies of survey questionnaires were handed out to Public Research Universities in Malaysia and IBM SPSS Statistics was used to analyse and interpret the collected data. The data was analysed using descriptive analysis, reliability test, normality test, Pearson Correlation Coefficient Analysis and Multiple Linear Regression. The results showed that the independent variables Leaders’ Idealised Influence, Intellectual Stimulation have positive effect on academic performance.
