Description
Summary:The purpose of this study is to examine understanding and significance of MGP research from the perspective of academicians of public universities in Malaysia using the exploratory sequencial mixed method i.e. structured interview and questionnaire. Apparently, the findings demonstrate that knowledge and exposure related to MGP research among academicians from Malaysian public universities are still limited since such study is regarded exclusive in nature. In addition, the main focus of MGP research has been on genetic structure of the Malay population in Malaysia and also medical benefits it may offer such as diagnosing genetic diseases which have been pioneered by researchers from the University Science of Malaysia (USM) and Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Malaysia.
