| 要約: | According to DeCarrico and Nattinger (1988, p. 91), comprehension of academic lectures by non-native speakers has long been a neglected problem and has only recently been seriously addressed. To explore this phenomenon, a spoken academic corpus of Malaysian engineering lectures is being developed and analysed by a group of researchers in Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. One of the aims of this endeavour is to offer engineering students with strategies in listening to and learning from lectures effectively.
