الملخص:Growth of spinach (Spinacia Oleracea L.) at different rate of spent mushroom compost "Spinacia oleracea L. or well known as spinach are widely grown as food source. Spent mushroom compost (SMC) and peat moss (PM) are used as a raw material for substrate. Eight different substrates were prepared either alone or combination of two materials. Peat moss was used as a control in this study. Each treatment had four treatments. These substrates were mixed with given ratio of peat moss and spent mushroom compost. The result of the study shows that there is a significance difference in plant height, number of branches per plant, diameter of stem per plant, fresh weight, dry weight and leaf area. The result obtained from the experiment in this study indicates that spent mushroom compost can be used as an alternative growing substrate with the best ratio of 1:1 of SMC and PM with NPK amendment. Thus, I recommend SMC: PM+NPK as a best treatment to be used.
