description The objectives of the project as identified above were achieved through a structured program of action that included research and technology transfer. Several experiments were conducted to achieve the first objective. The aquaponics systems were biodynamic, consistent with RAS principle, released no waste in the environment and consumed less electricity. Results suggested the feasibility of aquaponics as a green technology module suitable for organic aquaculture. Nelson and Pade Aquaponics System were imported and results obtained by using this facility were compared with the output from a locally designed and fabricated system. Results were comparable, suggesting the need for considering important substitution.
