Ruth Kiew
Ruth Kiew ( 14 April 1946 – 20 November 2025) was a Malaysian-British botanist focused on Peninsular Malaysia and Borneo. Kiew was the first woman to be awarded the David Fairchild Medal for plant exploration, by the National Tropical Botanical Garden, recognising her as "one of the world's great experts on tropical begonias" in 2002.
