Results of the findings show that there is not much disparity in the promotion policies though satisfaction level of employees varies. Generally, competence in evaluation and justice in promotion improve the morale of employees. However, employees expect favourable financial rewards for assuming higher responsibility. Further, awareness of promotion opportunities and understanding of performance evaluation criteria alleviate employees blame on the company. The study was designed to help HR professionals to understand best practices that can be applied in their organisations to enhance employee satisfaction.
