Description
Summary:Malaysia is a developing country and growth that developing fast with many construction like highway and building. The study area of this project is situated at Jeli, in Kelantan provinces. For the purpose of developing the infrastructures facilities to the users, many areas have been excavated due to the development. The objective of this research is to do a geological mapping of the study area which is Jeli area and estimates the mechanical properties of the rock mass. The method used in carried out this research including identifying problem, literature review, data collection which are collected from the field and government agencies, analysis on petrography and the mechanical properties of rock mass using GSI collaborate with Hoek-Brown Failure criterion. Based on the result of mapping, there are two types of rock which is igneous and metamorphic rock which is from the Kemahang granite. The estimated of rock mechanical properties have concluded that the rock mass at Politeknik Jeli is range from average strong rock mass to very strong rock mass. Overall, the study had achieved the objectives and geological map of Lakota Jeli, Kelantan are produced and all mechanical properties of rock mass at Politeknik Jeli is prepared.
