Description
Summary:This course design to help students in the theory, process, and techniques of set or stage designing. Topics will include: the principles and dynamics of design, the development of a design concept, script analysis from the designer's perspective, drafting and rendering techniques, color and style, as well as making 3-D representations of scenic designs through creating white and presentation models (colored/finished model box). This course is intended to acquaint students with the elements of theatrical design and is particularly suited for those who have had some experience working in the theater on or backstage. Students will be informed about each area of theater design and set design relationship including scenery; lighting. costume, sound, and properties, discuss the development of design concept in the context of production and finally see their designs brought to the realization on the stage
