Nowadays, there are various technological solutions that has been practised by the petroleum industry to treat oil sludge and among that is landfarming. In order to address the downsides of the landfarming treatment method, a closed composting system is to be studied for its feasibility in terms of odour control and hydrocarbons biodegradability. Various physical and chemical parameters are going to be monitored to evaluate their influence on the biodegradability of these petroleum hydrocarbons.
